About Me

I haven't always been a Nutrition Coach! Before pursuing this rewarding vocation, I enjoyed a 35-year career in international high-tech marketing that took me from London to Edinburgh, across the pond to Seattle for almost a decade, before I finally settled back in Scotland with my family.

Having discovered in my thirties that I have a hereditary form of high cholesterol, I tried to manage saturated fat intake, but coupled this with endless calorie counting and waves of unsuccessful yo-yo dieting, without really understanding what I was doing. Plus, I was a working mother of two always looking for easy, kid-friendly meals I could put on the table quickly at the end of a busy day.

It wasn't until I signed up to the ZOE nutrition programme that I discovered I also had poor blood sugar control and gut health. However, armed with the information that ZOE provided, I learnt how to change my diet and eating patterns. I then finally started to see the weight loss and body transformation results I'd always wanted, but which had become so hard to achieve in midlife.

 

My passion for the importance and benefits of good nutrition during menopause was ignited! I deepened my knowledge through a short course with Scottish nutritional expert Amanda Hamilton, whose realistic, evidence-based approach inspired me to enrol in her Nutrition Coach Academy, certified by The Complementary Medicine Association (CMA).

I've learnt how to take my nutritional knowledge and apply it in the kitchen, progressing from beige foods and snip-and-pour meal kits, to throwing together healthy and colourful veggie- and protein-packed stir fries, tray-bakes and curries with confidence.

 

I also love to keep moving, and achieve balance and 'me time' through Pilates, yoga, swimming, walking, paddle boarding, playing the piano and singing in the Edinburgh Rock Choir!

Ready for a complete change, I took a leap of faith and left the corporate world behind to fully embrace this new direction. I'm now dedicated to helping other women in midlife make smarter food choices, lose weight for good without restrictive diets, and feel their very best.
